Common sense, commmon courtesy...

This is my second post on this matter. When you dont know how to land your own kite and you flag someone down, hopefully a KITER!!!, to help, please run your ass over to YOUR kite and go grab it!!!!!!!

There is nothing more frusterating then when you have your own kite in the air and someone is desperatley asking you to land their yellow cabrinha(ooops) and they either pull on the lines or sit there winding them up as you hold it with 1 hand. the result of this action is not only unsafe but it basically pisses people off! in return, because of this, if someone is yelling for me to land their kite and mine is in the air, I just ignore them. i feel badly but i am so tired of this. Today Tianna landed a guy who landed his kite to her as she was tryingto get out, she held the kite for him. He then pulled on the lines so hard it flew around and hit the ground including her lines and he still didnt run over to get the damn kite. Point made????

only at alameda do you see this, why is that? hmmm

Why Grasshopper due some people use turn signals and others do not?

You will find your answer by looking at the kiters

Windhorny, Alameda is not the only place this happens. Some people seem to think they are the only person on the beach maybe even the world? It's not just landing kites, it's launching, kite setup and take down etc. People have no clue. I think about 10% of kiters know whats going on and 90% don't.

and kiting is not the only place where people with the lack of common sense and respect are. They are everywhere... infact kiters tend to be better than a lot of t=other groups of people.

Yuri,
Bro...

If someone asks you to do something thats dangerous just say No.
If you elect to help others it should come as no supprize that your time will be impacted. My personal experance is, if I help others out of guilt or operate on the level of expecting return I have tarnished the energy with negitive energy. Therefore, Accept this consumption of your time and energy as your gift to another.. When that energy is not returned in kind, its only human to feel offended, Don't!

Remember the gift-- keep your eye on the ball, Enjoy!

Another thing I noticed today. If you have your kite in the safety (good decision to do so) and you want to get your kite. dont let go the safety and run for your kite but walk/swim to your kite while reel in your line!!!

Yuri, actually I wouldnt even land a kite anyway while mine is still in the air! I see this as too dangerous to do it for both sides. But your versions even suck way more...

Otherwise good day on the water as I inaugurated my woody version of the Yuri board. But mine is actually 142 as I needed to have the "42" somewhere in the board.

So so true..

I came in today at 3rd on my 9 and a beginner was launching his 16m C kite.. I could see he didn't have a clue so I told him that his kite was waaay too big..

He was with his friend.. he already had his kite in the air and his friend was holding him down.. they seem to discuss it for a second and then decided to still go out..

I kept an eye on him and ended up in the lower launch..

Looks like everything worked out..

But.. please all beginners!!! I know we all want to get out and have fun.. but if somebody tells you that you shouldn't get out, DON'T.. listen to people that have more experience than you.. I'm by no means an expert.. not even close to it.. but I'm shocked at how clueless people are at 3rd.. it scares me..

Yuri Third Ave upper launch is starting to give Alameda a good run. Don’t think the grass is greener on the other side of the bay.

I would never launch or land someone's kite while flying mine. There are usually people around to take care of that, the guy with his kite in the air should NOT be that person.

If its life and death situation I would act differently, but for lunching? Forget it.

Anyway if someone you don’t know asks you to launch his kite when you have your kite in the air, his kookness level is high enough that you don’t want anything to do with him except for a safe distance.

Glad Tiana is ok...Yesterday at Sherman during the demo Brenan was asked to launch a 14 when folks were out there on 8,9 and 10's. He just said, sorry your kite is too big for what is going on, not gonna launch you... I hear your frustration.

I think you are too nice, I am not about to grab anything with my kite up in the air, too much can go wrong...

Everything went relatively well but I was dumbfounded to see people coming in on the trail leading to the launch instead of walking the back trail...Lot's of folks not familiar with SI...maybe we need an in and out sign out there...

The back trail has only been there since last summer. And nothing wrong with crossing on the main trail as each kite is opposite angle.

The back launch was supposed to be for some select locals, started many years ago, not weekend warriors
