What Sunscreen for Kiting/Watersports??????

Bought a bunch of this Aloegator gel on your recommendation and those on e-pinions. No offense, but I hate this GREASY stuff. I prefer my sunscreen Coppertone Sport Sunblock SPF 30 GEL (Gel is key for me, No Creams, goes on clear with alcohol base and dries on. No washing off, no slipping around. I live by it.) It is a little hard to find, so I buy more of the BLUE tubes every time I find it, so that I have at least 2-3 tubes at all times.

I'll give it a shot. maybe banana boat isnt all its cracke dup to be. I like it cause it goes on relatively easily, especially being a hairy beast.

It's definitely not. Since trying other brands, I've discovered that it's too hard to put on and too easy to come off.

SOL Sunguard. I am bald and fair skinned, need maximum protection. I have used many products. Bought SOL in Truckee, it WORKS. Best yet, tried all others.

I recently switched to "Blue Lizard". The sport version works really good for me in and out of the water. I've worked and played in the sun all my life, and I think this product has worked the best. There is a slight, temporary eye burn when you first get wet. But no sunburn, even after hours of kiting or surfing. No oilyness to it either.
It is an Australian sunscream. Apparently the Australian spf value covers a broader spectrum of UVA/UVB light. At least that is what they claim.
It is a little hard to find, but the Rite-Aid in Grover, and Pismo carry it regularily.
And the cap on the tube turns dark blue when held in sunlight, cool !

i like HIC (hawaiian island creations) sunscreen. I met one of the investors down in La Ventana in January and they provided a bunch of sunscreen giveaways at the Pismo Beach KiteXpo in May. It doesn't go on greasy, doesn't run in your eyes, and provides excellent protection. I am chinese and tan super easily. Using this sunscreen has kept me at a consistent lighter color for a year:-) When I'm dark, its usually because I was too lazy or too jonzed to get on the water to put it on. lol.

Shisiedo (sp?) spf 55 face cream; it's the geisha stuff that ya'll see me scaring the general public with, since my pasty mug is plastered with that stuff. Does not run; does not come off, not greasy, or nasty smelling. To remove it, you have to use a dry washcloth and baby oil/lotion, or makeup remover cloths.

A faster alternative that works amazingly well: Sunforgettable, spf 30; it is a DRY powdered sunscreen that you brush on your face and go. No waiting 30 minutes, etc. It also needs to be removed with something oily because it doesn't come off in the water. Because it's a powder that brushes on (super easily, by the way; the brush pops out of the cylinder it's stored in, and you shake the powdered sunscreen through the brush to coat your mug.), one can easily brush it over your closed eyes, onto ears, and onto squirming kid faces quickly.

NOW, if someone would please invent a large polarized UV protecting contact lens, so that I can ditch my eyewear! Cheers, GM
