My condolences to family and loved ones. Was this related to the kiting accident in any way?

Crap, condolences to the family and everyone who knew Matt. Sounds like he was a good soul and solid human being. A kiter friend passed suddenly a few years back, and our tribe simultaneously went kiting to get in the water and think good thoughts of him. I'm sure there will be lots of kiters here thinking good thoughts of Matt and everything he did.

I was really bummed when I got an email note from JustLettingYouKnow about his site registration and why he was registering to post. I'm sorry to hear it, it's unfortunate and sad news... :(

Re: Helicopter pickup at Sherman Island
I am very sad and stunned to hear this news,
Matt was a really nice guy, and he really wanted to kite again and have a welcome back party to thank those that helped him. We just spoke on the phone and he donated $200 towards the kicker project, that was just a week or so ago...
God- I'm blown away! it's true only the good ones die young-
Warm Winds Matt Splatt,

I will be sure to pass all your warm wishes on to the family. Matt really enjoyed Kiting and was looking forward to being back out there with all of you. And no, his passing was not Kite Boarding related. Thanks again.

Matt,
I offered to supply a keg for your return party however we have now been robbed this opportunity forever.
I will be providing a keg of beer and will raise a glass in your memory on labor day weekend.
All those interested, please come. This is sad.
We all need to realize the fine line between all our aches, pains, sore ribs, cracked bones and understand we are not invincible. I don't want to lose any friends or fellow kiters.
