Can we start to get some reports from Pismo locals about current/recent conditions and forecasts?

It's been blowing like stink for the last few weeks and forecast is looking great so far for the weekend. We have a slight high pressure system that started building yesterday but it is supposed to clear and cool down on Thursday, just in time for the event.

Anyone that is or has camped there before...
What site is closest to the new event? Are they all first come first serve? Planning on taking the bus down so anyone else that wants to try and meet up at a camp site, let me know.
this is of course unless the forecast just sucks. :)

I've camped there before, if you're doing the 6$ special on the beach camping, there aren't any "sites".
Find your patch of sand past mile marker 2, park your car, pitch your tent, and depending on the tides, watch people in front of you get stuck in soft sand at high tide :-)! Make sure you take your tent down during the day! If you don't you will come back to a piece of nylon with 200# of sand on top of it!
It's truly MAD MAX out there at night! Very fun, bring your dirt bike /atv!

Not sure where that forecast came from but NOAA for our area has changed it three times since yesterday afternoon. . Forecast right now is for strong winds today through Friday with light winds for the weekend. We have a high pressure system over us right now but it is supposed to move out between Thursday and Sat. We'll have a better idea tomorrow.

Do a lot of RV's with 2wd have an issue getting on/off the beach where people stay overnight? it seems the beach is big enough you could get out of harms way.
I might bring my dirtbike! better than sitting waiting for wind.
Speaking of which, does anyone know if where the new EXPO is located we can legally ride bikes/ATV's on the beach?

Hey Yuri,
The dirtbike will be a good 2nd option and from what I’m understanding, the Expo location is just a little north of where you can drive on the beach. Just keep the bus on the hardpack where you can and don’t make any hard turns in the soft stuff :)
