Best Kiteboarding Investment

What's kitesurfing purchase that has gotten you most enjoyment/$ ?

Bow kite?
Some kind of closeout deal on last year's kite?
iKitesurf membership?
Line Lube?

I think mine was a $50 used board I found on iKitesurf. Guy had kited twice, dinged board and was done with sport. A little Solarez fixed it up and I've been happy on that board for 2 seasons now.

Eager to hear suggestions on where to put this years (limited) budget...

Out of the 15 or so kites I've had in the last 8 years, only 3 were purchased new. It's quite rewarding to put in the time and find a solid used kite that'll last another season or so.

Only better investment I've had is my Dakine nitrous shorts...still riding with the ones from the first year they were available. They are faded as all heck, have holes and rips but who cares.

makes lightwind days lots of fun. and it's pretty cheap as they realize it's an additional board for most people.

it has saved my session more times in the past winter than any other thing i've ever had.

My helmet. Keeps the sun off my bald spot and when people yell at me I can't hear them. Now I just need to paint alien eyes on the back to mess with people's heads.

My best kiteboarding investment:
Investing in Kiteboarding
What I've received is impossable to put a number on, I've smiled about a million times, made hundreds of friends, traveled high and low around the globe doing what I absoulutly love to do with people I' like so much I'd lay my life down to assist 99.9% of them..... (sorry Andy!)

What I've paid for this amount of joy is also impossable to put a finger on... The loss of work hours along equals hundreds of thousands of lost dollars and thats no bullshit!.. The costs are HIGH, but, it's worth it.

Kiting sends my soul flying-
L.M.G.

Well?? That would have to be my "2005 Slingshot Drake" the footstrap covers wore out and I found out I did not need them as the footstraps are rubber and they stay on my feet better then with covers.. the Drake has nut and bolt to board.. so I have never had to deal with screws. and it has a foam core easy on the knees..

My best investment I'm hoping is my next board (undecided on which at the moment). I'm on a wakestyle now and my knees are beginning to hate me for it. I'm looking into the freeride styles now, such as the OR Mako...
