This is incorrect, you cannot kite all year long. For long stretches of time, there is simply no wind, or no useable wind, therefore no kiting...just saying...Ron wrote:SF is a great area for kiting where you can choose your spot based on your riding preferences and wind direction. Lots of places.. I think i got in at least 10 sessions in Nov and i know people who had more.
Its possible.. Can be sketchy and unpredictable but still a session
Not always advisable though

Well, I suppose it depends on what you want to do with your time.

yup, pretty impressive indeed!nick_80044 wrote:Wow--impressive! I feel lucky just to have had one.Loscocco wrote:Lots of places.. I think i got in at least 10 sessions in Nov and i know people who had more.
I guess I can count one for november from last week wednesday and one session for december with last week thursday.
Maybe it's just me, but one session a month is not really what I count as "all year long", but I understand it could be easily debatable.
I agree with what some others said: march to septembre is a little more realistic in termes of kitabilty.
Now, I understand what ron and loscoco are saying, but I feel like it becomes pretty sketchy to ride between october and february in the bay area.
But maybe I just got spoiled by the summer wind.

Re: Bay Area kite scene question
All year long is one session a week for me - so far so good. Coming from the New Jersey kitesurfing scene, it is very easy to kite in the SF area during the winter as long as you have a flexible schedule. It's another story on the east coast when air temperature goes below 32 and spots are far appart.
I kited Crissy last Thursday, HMB the Thursday before, Alameda tuesday the week before, etc...you just need a good excuse off work!!
